In 2017, a survey was conducted by The Australian Human Rights Commission towards university students and released a findings report on SASH at Australian Universities. The findings offered an insight into the flaws in University policy towards SASH preventative measures.
This initiative was created with a group of Flinders students from the ground up, to reflect our campus culture and what we think everyone needs to appreciate – consent, respect and empathy

In response to the survey report by the Australian Human Rights Commission, FUSA created nation-leading resources for universities across the country to use in education and across campuses.
On the student association’s website, Flinders students created world-class infographics discussing affirmative consent and breaking the cycle including posters and brochures to be spread around campuses. Via Issuu, FUSA published the ‘Be A Better Human’ campaign booklet, which has now been officially published digitially by La Trobe and Victoria University Student Unions. All resources towards respectful relationships and consent can be viewed at the hyperlink below.
Even though the original intention for these amazing resources was for the redistribution throughout Flinders University, the resources for the Be a Better Human campaign are universally malleable to education for new students on campus across the country. With the onset of online learning in important, make-or-break teen years to a sudden high of university life, campus consent and respectful relationships promotion is vital to ensuring we never see the same results as the 2017 report again.
