From the Womyn’s Department

It’s great to see some very successful events bringing in women from all over RMIT! So far we’ve had launch parties, ladies’ breakfasts, and afternoon tea

See the events section for more coming soon too! Photos taken at events will be shared on our Facebook page so keep an eye out to see your photos!

With Blue Stocking Week in April-May it’s good to think about why you are where you are, how you got there, and what inspires you, and so on

What inspires you and represents your idea of feminism? Our current pin-up lady was drawn by our very own Womyn’s Officer, and she’s one of your classically curvy pin-ups from the 1940s

There are many famous women who were pin-up girls, and many women felt that these pictures were rejections of orthodox assumptions about beauty

Be proud of your body no matter the curviness, colour or shape, and be proud to identify as a woman!

We in the Womyn’s Department would love to see your representation of feminism and pride in identifying as a woman, so send us your drawing or art piece to yasmine

edu

au for the opportunity to see your work

Please note that it must be original work, and successful pieces will receive a thank you present including a black singlet printed with ‘RUSU Womyn’s Department’

Can’t wait to see your work!
